Accessibility statement

This statement concerns the website poroo.fi, published by BoardGameBoys Oy (Business ID 3642289-7). We want the game to be readable and buyable regardless of the device or assistive technology you use. This text is a translation for convenience; in the event of a discrepancy, the Finnish version prevails.

Status of accessibility

The site has been designed and built to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA requirements. The assessment is our own; no external audit has been carried out. The site meets the requirements in part: the shortcomings listed below are known to us.

What we have done

• The pages work with a keyboard, and the focus indicator is visible.
• Images have text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
• The structure is based on heading levels and native HTML elements, not on visual styling alone.
• Text and background contrast has been checked, and text scales with browser zoom.
• The site respects the operating system's reduce motion setting: animations and scroll effects are switched off when it is enabled.
• The site is available in Finnish and English, and the page language is declared in the markup.
• Payment happens in Stripe's checkout, whose accessibility is Stripe's responsibility.

Known shortcomings

• The dice game. The dice roll on the home page is visual and animation-based. The result is also announced as text, but the idea of the game comes across best visually. The game is entertainment, and winning the discount code is not a requirement for buying.
• The story page. PORO's story is an experience built heavily on scrolling and animation. The content can be read with reduced motion as well, but the experience is then coarser.
• Content updates. Seasonally updated content may occasionally have temporary shortcomings. We fix them as soon as we become aware of them.
